Weaning your child off Ritalin
8. June 2011, 19:05 | by There's a remedy for that
There is no hard and fast rule with coming off Ritalin or any of its generic sold under a variety of different names. A weaning approach is always best since Ritalin is a very addictive substance. These tablets cannot be divided or crushed so it means that they have to be taken less frequently or in a lower tablet dose. (Ie One evry second day for a week or two, then one every third day, and so on). If possible always try to get the assistance of the doctor or specialist who prescribed the medication.
Our ADHD and other formulas can be taken at the same time as weaning your child off the medication. Nux Vom is a good additional remedy to give as it reduces withdrawal symptoms when coming off medication, drugs, nicotine, caffein and addictive substances.
